STOP MOTION ANIMATION
OLBAS OIL
A TV advert for Lanes Health’s to advertise Olbas Oil as part of a campaign to refresh the brand and bring the product to new audiences.
I worked with Yamination Studios in Birmingham as part of the fabrication team that built the sets, props and puppets for the ad. Tasked with the fabrication of the dog puppet, I followed design boards and armature roughs to create a puppet with a full range of movement (legs, neck, tail, jaw) that adhered to the character designs provided. The puppet was a small scale build (approx. 50cm (L) x 50cm (H), with wire armature plus side rig-point and paw tie-downs. The interiors were foam (body) and chemiwood model block (head with simple jaw mechanism.) The exterior was needle felted to give a soft and scruffy look at scale, with the extra details (ears, collar and lead) fabricated from suedette, leather and a canvas fabric.
